The lay flat hose usually serves as the sub-mains in a typical drip irrigation system. As part of the lay flat hose fittings, the lay flat hose connector comes with a punch tool. The punch tool is used for the creation of fitting holes on the lay flat hose.
The lay flat connector is gently screwed into the fitting hole that has been punched or created on the lay flat hose by the punch tool.
The lay flat hose connector is also called croco connector.

12mm Layflat Connectors
This is a type of connector that only connects 12 mm diameter drip tape to the lay flat hose. This type of lay flat connector will not work for 16mm size drip tape.
16mm Layflat Connectors
This is a type of lay flat hose connector that can only connect drip tape that has a diameter of 16mm. It will not work with drip tapes with sizes different from 16mm.
There are also 18mm layflat connectors, 22mm layflat connectors and 8mm lay flat connectors.

Lay Flat Hose
A layflat hose is needed before you can use a layflat hose connector. A layflat hose is a type of hose made from polythene.
There are reinforced layflat hoses and the conventional lay flay hoses. The layflat hose can be 1-inch, 1.5-inch, 2-inch or 3-inch in diameter.
Punch Tool or Puncher
The punch tool is an important accessory for the installation of a drip irrigation system.
The punch tool is used for the creation of holes in the lay flat hose. The layflat connector is usually screwed into the hole in a perfect fit manner.
This is the most important accessory in a typical drip irrigation system. The drip tape is a polythene hose with emitters installed at equal distances on it.
The lay flat hose connector is used to connect the drip tape to the lay flat hose.
How to Install Lay Flat Connector
You will need a punch tool if you want to fit a lay flat connector on the lay flat hose.
The punch tool has to be used to gently punch or create a hole on the lay flat hose. After the hole has been created, the lay flat hose connector has to be gently screwed into the hole.
Once in the hole, it needs to be bolted to form a tight fit on the lay flat hose.
